OPEN CALL for African Filmmakers:
WHY FREEDOM? (Africa Edition)!
In partnership with @thewhyfoundation, we’re calling on filmmakers across the continent to pitch short documentaries (5-15 min) that explore freedom, from your perspective, in the context you know best. Political, personal, social, economic, or environmental – all interpretations are welcome.
With democracy and individual freedoms under increasing pressure, this series is part of a global effort to spotlight the many lived realities of what freedom looks like, feels like, or is still being fought for.
From grounded reflection to bold perspective, we’re looking for 6 clear, compelling narratives – anchored in voices you’re well-positioned to share, with real connection to the people, places, or moments at their core.
