In a fearless blend of Kenyan spirit and Nigerian grit, 1 Woman 1 Bra follows a woman’s journey of self-acceptance after a mastectomy, where a simple search for the right bra unfolds into a moving exploration of resilience, femininity, and humour.
Selected for the Biennale College Cinema 2024/2025 and backed by a €200,000 production grant, the film is written and directed by Vincho Nchogu in her feature debut, with Nigerian producer Josh Olaoluwa bringing his extensive experience to the project. Shot entirely in Kenya by cinematographer Muhammad Atta Ahmed, it will premiere at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival from August 27 to September 6, 2025.
With its striking visuals and bold perspective, 1 Woman 1 Bra celebrates women’s stories while challenging taboos around body image and identity, marking a landmark moment for African storytelling on the global stage.
