Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson Team Up for Explosive Heist Comedy The Pickup — First Look Revealed

Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the first images from its upcoming action-comedy The Pickup, featuring a dynamic duo of comedy heavyweights: Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson. The film also stars Keke Palmer in a high-stakes, adrenaline-fueled story of crime, chaos, and unexpected camaraderie.

Directed by Tim Story (Ride Along, Think Like a Man), The Pickup brings together two generations of comedic talent for a wild, high-octane ride. Blending old-school wit with modern-day flair, the film showcases the unlikely pairing of Murphy and Davidson as they dive headfirst into an increasingly outrageous day on the job.

What’s The Pickup About?

In The Pickup, what starts as a routine armored truck run quickly spirals into pandemonium. Murphy plays Russell, a seasoned driver, while Davidson takes on the role of Travis, his unpredictable partner. The two are blindsided by a crew of armed criminals led by Zoe (played by Palmer), a brilliant and cunning mastermind with a scheme that goes far beyond just stealing cash.

As the heist unfolds, Russell and Travis are thrown into a whirlwind of danger, clashing egos, and nonstop surprises—all while trying to survive a day that just keeps getting worse.

Who Else Is in the Cast?

Rounding out the ensemble cast are Eva Longoria, NFL star Marshawn Lynch, WWE’s Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, comedian Andrew Dice Clay, and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’s Ismael Cruz Córdova.

The screenplay is penned by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider. Eddie Murphy and director Tim Story also serve as producers alongside John Davis, John Fox, and Charisse Hewitt-Webster.

When and Where to Watch

The Pickup premieres exclusively on Prime Video on August 6. Fans can expect a blend of sharp humor, fast-paced action, and standout performances when the film drops later this summer.
