Top Five Nollywood Directors

1. Tunde Kelani, he is a legend in Nigeria’s movie industry, his works will continue to be some of the most highly-regarded in Nigerian film history. He directed films such as Taxi Driver, Ireke, Onibudo, Soworoide, Maami and Thunderbolt. He is also an award winner of 2018 Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Award.

2. C.J fiery Obasi, he is the director who stood out from the crowd with his projects which includes Ojuju, O Town, and Hello Rain. Ojuju which premiered at the Africa International Film Festival in 2014 won the award for Best Nigerian Film and C.J Obasi himself won the Trailblazer of the Year award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) in 2015.

3. Izu Ojukwu the film icon got nine nominations at the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) out of which it won five. Izu Ojukwu himself received an award for Best Director. With his subsequent movies, especially, the 2016 movie ‘76’, which won three awards from its eight nominations at the 2017 AMAA, he continues to show a drive for excellence that makes him one of Nollywood’s best directors.

 

4. Kemi Adetiba, She seems to always get thibgs right when she is working on a film. Her ability to create films or projects that are appealing to individuals makes her one of the top directors of this time. Her work on feature films includes Wedding Party and the highly anticipated King of Boys, also she is credited for the incredibly well received King Women series.

5. Jade Osiberu the 2018 winner of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) Best Director – Jade Osiberu. The producer, director also worked on the highly acclaimed Nigerian TV Series Gidi Up and Nigerian Trade.
