About The FCDC
The FCDC is a nonprofit organization that provides mentorship, resources, and support for BIPOC marketers, primarily based in developing countries. Our current brand feels good, but we want it to be bolder, more engaging, and more memorable in every space we show up.

Why this role matters
We need someone who can transform our visual identity and evolve what we’ve built. This is a senior hire with influence across design, brand strategy, and creative execution. We move fast. Your creativity must move faster.

What you’ll be responsible for
Brand identity & evolution
Lead the ongoing evolution of FCDC’s visual identity from colour systems to type, icons, photography styles, and motion direction.
Build, maintain, and enforce a brand system that scales across platforms and partners.
Translate brand strategy into visual execution that strengthens recognition and emotional connection.
Create a wide range of assets, including pitch decks, one‑pagers, reports, infographics, banners, digital ads, social campaign templates, and more.
Present concepts clearly and confidently to stakeholders.
Cross‑functional collaboration
Partner with other team members to ensure design supports organisational goals.
Translate briefs into visual solutions quickly and reliably.
Help shape design thinking and visual strategy across teams.
Process & delivery
Manage multiple design projects under tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
Set expectations with internal clients and deliver work that meets or exceeds them.
Maintain organised files, style guides, templates, and design documentation.
What we’re looking for
Must‑have experience
4+ years of hands-on brand design experience, ideally at an agency or in‑house creative team.
A portfolio that shows strategic thinking and polished execution across digital and print.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Figma.
Strong typography, colour theory, and visual layout skills.

Nice to have
Experience in nonprofit, mission‑driven brands.
Motion design basics (After Effects or similar).
Experience in structuring, evolving, or auditing existing visual systems.

What success looks like in 3 months

A refreshed brand system with updated colours, typography, and visual language that can be used across all FCDC touchpoints.
A comprehensive set of templates (social, print, deck, internal comms) that teams can use with confidence.
Design processes are integrated into project flows so outputs are predictable, on time, and aligned with strategy.

Portfolio review showing range across identity, campaigns, and systems.
Design exercise covering print, presentation, and social media briefs.
Conversation with Chima to assess fit and design thinking.
