BRS Studios brings “Stitches” to TIFF 2025, marking award-winning Ghanaian filmmaker Shirley Frimpong-Manso’s Nollywood debut.

Tell Me More

“Stitches” blends romance, ambition, and fashion, showcasing Lagos’ vibrant culture. Producer Chris Odeh says, “Stitches is about love, identity, and ambition, but most importantly, it’s about the resilience and creativity of young Africans.” The film is part of TIFF’s Industry Selects program, highlighting top films for worldwide acquisition.

BRS Studios, founded in 2024 by Joy Efe Odiete (Blue Pictures), Ramsey Nouah (Ramsey Films), and Chris Odeh (Sozo Films), continues to build on the momentum of its Netflix breakout Tokunbo, which ranked among the platform’s top 10 films in more than 50 countries.

After an unexpected tragedy, Boma, a gifted young fashion designer and hopeless romantic, leaves behind her humble sewing room to join her estranged high-society aunt’s top fashion house. Driven to achieve her dreams and establish her voice in this overwhelmingly competitive industry, Boma catches the attention of Lagos’ leading philanthropic fashionista — and the eye of her kind, pediatrician son — despite her social class standing.

This seductive drama is a modern fairytale romance nestled in the bustling, vibrant metropolis of Lagos, showcasing in equal measure the world of haute-couture fashion and the universal desire to find acceptance and love.
