Call for Designers: Africa Fashion Week London 2026
Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) is officially inviting innovative, culturally-driven, and contemporary designers to apply for our milestone 16th Edition. As the UK’s largest annual fashion event dedicated to African and African-inspired design, we provide a global platform to bridge the gap between African creativity and the international fashion industry.
The Opportunity
We are looking for designers who push boundaries, celebrate heritage, and exhibit exceptional craftsmanship. This is your chance to showcase your latest collection to a diverse audience of international buyers, media, fashion influencers, and industry stakeholders in the heart of the UK.
Event Details
* Dates: 20th – 23rd August 2026
* Time: 12 PM – 9 PM daily
* Location: Central London (Venue to be announced)
* Theme: Your Design. Our Runway.
Designer Requirements
To be considered for a runway slot or exhibition space, applicants must demonstrate:
* Originality: Collections must be original works that highlight African aesthetics, textiles (such as Aso Oke, Ankara, Adire), or contemporary African narratives.
* Quality: High standards of tailoring, finishing, and garment construction.
* Brand Readiness: A cohesive collection (minimum 10–15 looks for runway) and a clear brand identity.
* Sustainability: We highly encourage designers who incorporate ethical production and sustainable practices.
