Call for Submissions: S16 Film Festival – S16 Labs 2026

The S16 Film Festival is officially inviting applications for S16 Labs, a flagship development programme designed to identify and elevate the next generation of Nigerian filmmakers. This five-month mentorship initiative will select four feature film projects, providing directors and writers with hands-on experience to refine their craft and prepare their work for industry presentation.

Programme Overview

Selected filmmakers will receive expert guidance to develop their feature films, culminating in a presentation to industry professionals during the S16 Film Festival to help bring their projects to fruition.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the S16 Labs, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Nationality/Residency: Must be a Nigerian filmmaker based in Nigeria.

• Age: Must be 18 years or older.

• Career Stage: Must be an emerging or early-career filmmaker (Director or Writer).

• Project Status: Must submit a fiction feature film currently in development.

• Rights: Must own or control the rights to the submitted project.

• Availability: Must be available for all scheduled lab sessions (conducted both virtually and in person during the festival).

Submission Requirements

Applicants must provide a comprehensive application package including:

• A Comprehensive Visual Treatment.

• A Logline.

• A project Synopsis.
